Establishment:

Institute has been setup in January 2003. Mr. Sher Akbar Khan MNA Buner inaugurated the Institute as a Chief Guest. People from all walks of life participated in the function. Addressing to the gathering Mr. Nazir Muhammad founder and the Managing Director of the Institute, in his speech highlighted aims, objectives and mission of the institute. Mr. Abdul Yunas Head Master presided over the inaugural ceremony.

Name of the Institute:

The institute has been named as "Rafiq Institute of IT & Technical Education". Rafiq Ahmad is one of the illiterate persons of District Buner, who facilitate his descendents of the modern learning and one of his son Nazir Muhammad got his diploma in computer Science, who may be the first person in Buner, to get that auspiciousness at that time, and who serves all government departments free of cost in this regard whenever his services require to those departments.
